Help Scout integration guide

NOTE: This help article is intended for customers on our self-serve level of service. If you are an Olark Pro customer, your integration likely will work differently. Please reach out to pro@olark.com for help with setting up your integration.

Integration Setup

Help Scout is a Help Desk that can be connected to Olark to help access all of your transcripts, offline messages, and customer data.

Follow these steps to connect Olark and Help Scout to begin sending chat transcripts and offline messages to your Help Desk software.

  1. To start this integration, log into your Help Scout account, and go to Manage > Apps in the top toolbar.

  2. Select Olark from the list of apps. Then, click the Install App button on the left.

  3. You should see a page showing your Webhook URL. Copy it, and configure the options below to your liking. Paste it into your Help Scout configuration page.

  4. Paste the Webhook URL into your Help Scout configuration page, click Save and you're all set!

Please provide the domain name where your Olark live chat is installed.
Include the relevant transcript URL, if possible. You can send us the specific URL from your Transcripts page.
If you see specific error messages, banners, warnings, notices, etc., please let us know here.
