Disable Browser Tab Sleeping

Browsers will sleep tabs they deem inactive to improve computer performance. This can cause agents to be disconnected from the chat interface. To prevent this, add Olark to the "do not sleep this site" setting in your browser.

Browser Specific Instructions

Microsoft Edge

• Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser‍
• Choose "settings" from the dropdown menu
• Choose "System and Performance" in the left navigation
• Click on the "Performance" section
• Click the "add site" button next to Never put these sites to sleep
• Add both app.olark.com and chat.olark.com

Chrome

• Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the browser‍
• Choose "settings" from the dropdown menu
• Choose "performance" in the left navigation
• Click the "add" button next to Always keep these sites active‍
• Add both app.olark.com and chat.olark.com
