Using Olark in Adium

Basic Account Information

  • Username: username@olark.com
  • Server: olark.com
  • Protocol: Jabber (or in Adium 1.5, XMPP)
  • Port: 5222
  • Use SSL: no

Get Adium

We highly recommend using Adium with Olark as it lets you log in using multiple screen names simultaneously, separating business and personal chats for example.

Adium Olark Tutorial

  1. Launch Adium
  2. Enter the Adium Preferences from the Adium menu option

  3. Select the "Accounts" Preferences Tab.

  4. Click on the "+" icon to add a Jabber (or XMPP) account

  5. Fill in the field 'Jabber ID (or XMPP ID):' with your Olark username: username@olark.com and the 'Password' field with your Olark password. Click "OK", NOT "Register New Account"

  6. Select 'Available' in the status menu to bring your Olark account online.
