Require Name And Email
It would be nice if the "Pre Chat" options were a little more flexible. For example, we would like to be able to request the visitors first name and their initial question.
We do not want to require an email address because we believe that will be a barrier to chat.
Interesting. I agree about not requiring email as yes, folks are a bit hesitant to easily give out emails for fear o fending up on a mailing list. But first question? Seems like perhaps a bit redundant. If a person is motivated to initiate a chat, they area likely going to ask their question anyway.
I see probably 50% of people including their question in the first post. Name alone would be fine with me as it personalizes the exchange and gets it a good starting point.

How would you feel about just disabling the email field?
