So Ben’s been at it again cooking up some goodness that’s been a long time coming. Those of you who’ve been using Adium know how clean your buddy list looks when users get assigned nicknames (reminder: you can type /nick username to assign a nickname to any user after you begin talking to them).
Sadly iChat just couldn’t offer the same elegant experience… you would see something like the following:

Now, after some carful prodding iChat displays users just as you’d expect. If a user has a nickname, by golly you’ll be seeing it, not some webuser.8.12 mumbo jumbo.
